Yes,
if you are at least 21 years old, in good general health and have
no past history of previous eye diseases. LASIK can treat a very
large range of refractive or focusing difficulties, including
near (myopia) and far (hyperopia) sightedness and astigmatism.
Patients best suited for laser eye surgery are ones who are currently
unhappy wearing glasses or contact lenses. Good LASIK candidates,
however, must have realistic expectations. It is best to have
a clear goal for the eye surgery (such as the ability to see more
clearly without glasses or contacts) as well as a thorough understanding
of the risks, possible complications, and limitations of laser
vision correction. It is important to remember that, as with all
surgeries, a good result cannot be guaranteed and no procedure
is risk free.

or, equally as important, if this procedure would not be best
for you.
